Latest update
It's been a little while since our last update and for good reason. Today, we're rolling out an incredible set of updates that changes the future of Eververse moving forward.
Eververse is now open source. You can find the source code on GitHub. It's built on next-forge, a production-grade Turborepo template for Next.js apps.
Feel free to contribute, learn, host your own or just explore!
We gave the platform a bit of a facelift! While we did like the old "glowy stars and Midjourney graphics" vibe, we wanted the product to feel more like other awesome open source products — Cal, Midday, Maybe, OpenStatus, etc.
We hope you like the new, simple aesthetic.
Eververse is now way cheaper — 92% to be specific. We made some key architectural changes so it's cheaper to run; and we get to pass the savings on to you! We also decided to do away with the concept of "editor" pricing — now you're just billed by users. Simple!
Our Pro plan is dropping from:
$48/editor/month to $4/user/month; when billed annually
$60/editor/month to $5/user/month; when billed monthly.
If you're already on the Pro plan, we've updated your subscription. Enjoy the savings!
Normally we wouldn't share something so technical, but now that we're open source we might as well! We migrated our entire backend (the database, authentication, realtime and storage systems) to a platform called Supabase. This is the primary driver for the reduction in cost, but also means it's easier to self-host Eververse if you want to.
We have documentation now! It's a bit sparse, but hopefully enough to cover the basics of setup, apps, packages and deploying!
That's all for today. Until next time
